Mikel Arteta admits Real Madrid clash will be his biggest night as manager, urges fans to be vocal in Champions League quarter-final first leg

Premier League runners-up Arsenal are set to host defending champion and 15-time champion Real Madrid at Emirates Stadium in the first leg of their quarter-final in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, April 8, 2025.

Speaking ahead of the game, Arteta said of the team’s commitment to the game: “11 players and 60,000 fans have to be really confident that we are ready to win and beat them. That’s the mindset I want.”

“The rest of the team is the team we’ve been through in the last quarter of the season, with the ups and downs and the things we’ve had to deal with. สนใจสมัคร? คลิกที่นี่เพื่อเริ่มต้น We have to keep doing that because that’s our strength.”

Asked if this was his biggest night as a manager, Arteta said: “100 per cent. It’s a pleasure to prepare for the game, to see them, to see the reactions of the people and how we feel about ourselves when we play in a game of this magnitude, the excitement around the club, the people. This is the stage we want to be on and the stage Arsenal have to be on consistently.

We’re very proud to be there and now we’re ready to do well.”

“With the specific qualities they have, when you put them in specific situations you know how dangerous they are. They can create those moments. Obviously, that’s something we definitely have to protect against.”

“That’s why I came to play football, that’s why I came to play as a manager and especially at this football club. We’ve been playing football like this for 20 years and for us this is a great opportunity to create our own story and this is what we’re doing.”
